Pfizer: 4Q Earnings Snapshot
NEW YORK (AP) _ Pfizer Inc. (PFE) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $594 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 42 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.
The drugmaker posted revenue of $11.68 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $11.01 billion.
Pfizer expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.10 to $3.20 per share, with revenue in the range of $59.4 billion to $61.4 billion.
Pfizer shares have declined almost 3% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has stayed nearly flat. The stock has declined slightly more than 3% in the last 12 months.
