Build bridges, not walls: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Feb 2 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday slammed the Centre for barricading the Delhi border, where farmers are protesting against the recently enacted agriculture laws, with concertina wires.

"GOI, Build bridges, not walls!", Mr Gandhi tweeted sharing the pictures of the protest site.

The Delhi Police has put up multi-layer barricades, barbed wires and also studded nails sealing the main entry points to prevent the movement of protesters.

The farmers protest regained momentum after an emotional appeal by farm leader Rakesh Tikait on January 30 which mobilised thousands of farmers from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Since then all the protest sites witnessed a massive upsurge of farmers.

Indian National Congress General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also shared a video of an aerial view of the protest sites. "We are in a war with our own farmers," she tweeted with the video.
