Four decades of Only Fools and Horses is being marked with a new set of stamps.

Royal Mail has decided to mark the much-loved BBC comedy's 40th anniversary with the new designs featuring Del Boy, Rodney and their friends.

Eight of the 12 special edition stamps are based on famous one-liners from the sitcom, with the four others focusing on the four main Trotter characters.

Only Fools and Horses was first broadcast in 1981 and followed the life and times of Peckham market trader Del Boy, played by Sir David Jason, and his less streetwise younger brother Rodney, played by Nicholas Lyndhurst.

They lived with their Granddad and later their Uncle Albert, as well as their partners Raquel and Cassandra.
