The world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume, Hero MotoCorp, sold 4,85,889 two-wheelers in January 2021. A year ago, Hero had despatched 5,01,622 units in the same month. Hero's domestic market sales accounted for 4,67,776 units in January 2021, a decline of 4 per cent from 4,88,069 units in the same month a year ago. Exports however displayed 33.6 per cent growth, from 13,553 units in January 2020 to 18,113 units in the same month this year. Motorcycles continue to be dominate Hero's overall sales volumes with as many as 4,49,037 motorcycles despatched in January 2021, a 9 per cent decline from 4,94,432 motorcycles sold in the same month a year ago.

The Hero Xtreme 160R became the 100 milionth motorcycle to roll out of the production line
On January 21, 2021, Hero MotoCorp achieved the significant milestone of 100 million units in cumulative production. The 100 millionth motorcycle to roll out of the assembly line was a Hero Xtreme 160R, at the company's manufacturing facility in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. On the occasion, Hero introduced six celebration edition models, including four motorcycles - Splendor Plus, Xtreme 160R, Passion Pro and Glamour, and two scooters, Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 110. The celebration edition models will go on sale from February 2021.

In January 2021, Hero MotoCorp entered into a distribution agreement with Grupo Salinas, founded by Mexican entrepreneur Ricardo Salinas. With this agreement, the two companies have formed one of the largest distribution networks globally to sell competitive, high-quality products in the Mexican market. Hero will launch nine products in Mexico across various segments. Hero also appointed new distributor partners in Nicaragua and Honduras in Central America.
