Tata Altroz gets a turbo 1.0 litre engine!

The Tata Altroz is the company’s premium hatchback offering that has made quite a name for itself thanks to its cutting edge design, space on board, features and overall value for money. Till date, Tata has managed to sell over 50,000 units of the Altroz and now on its 1st anniversary they have introduced the turbo version that also comes fitted with iRA connected car technology.

Under the hood of the turbo Altroz is a 1.2 litre BS6 petrol unit that is capable of delivering 110PS of peak power and 140 Nm of torque. It is touted to offer a rather enjoyable and peppy driving experience. Having said that, Tata has also ensured that you get the very best out of this engine as they have offered it with multiple drive modes that allow you to switch between Sport and City mode depending on your driving conditions and how you would like the car to behave.

The iRA connected car technology offers 27 features along with natural voice tech that allows the car to understand commands in English, Hindi as well as Hinglish! The Altroz i-Turbo is also the first hatchback to get What3Words technology that is a cutting edge tool that makes it easy to navigate.

Undoubtedly, the premium hatchback segment is heating up with the introduction of the new Hyundai i20 which also comes with a turbo petrol offering in its line up and it is clear that Tata is taking on the competition head-on with the Altroz range and new variants such as the i-Turbo will go a long way in helping the Indian manufacturer hold on to their marketshare in this segment.

The Altroz i-Turbo range starts from INR 7.75 lakh and goes up to INR 8.85 lakh.
