The central government has made it clear that the unmanned trial of the ambitious Gaganyaan campaign will be done in December this year. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned this mission in the budget speech due to the Corona epidemic, which was behind the timeline.
The finance minister made it clear that the area will be one of the core points of the government by allocating Rs 4469 crore more for the space department for the space missions last fiscal.
The first unmanned trial of the Gaganyaan campaign was to be carried out in the year 2020. In the year 2022, through this campaign, the government wants to send an Indian into space on its own.
For this, the training of four Indian space travelers is going on in Russia. The target of 2022 seemed to be lagging behind due to Corona falling behind schedule. But after the Finance Minister announced to leave the campaign this year, now the target of 2022 has started to look closer.
The Department of Space has been allocated a total of Rs 13,949 crore for the financial year 2021-22. In this also, Rs 8228 crore has been given as a capital expenditure, which can be said to be very important to try new technologies.
Last year the department received Rs 13479.47 crore, but later it was revised to Rs 9500 crore due to the Corona epidemic. An allocation of Rs 13,017.61 crore was made in the financial year 2019-20.
NSIL also gets Rs 700 crore
New Space India Limited (NSIL), the newly formed commercial wing of the Department of Space, has also received an allocation of Rs 700 crore in the space budget. In the budget speech, the Finance Minister announced the launch of PSLV C-51 on February 28 of the same month by NSAI, which will be carrying Brazilian satellites as well as some small domestic satellites.
