Mobile handsets may cost slightly more as duty on certain components have increased

Cost of buying air conditioners is likely to go up
The duty on AC compressors has increased from 12.5% to 15%. This may lead to increase in prices of ACs.
Some models of refrigerators may cost more
Government has increased the duty on compressors required for refrigerators from 12.5% to 15%. This means certain models of refrigerators may cost more than the usual price.
Prices of mixer grinders, microwaves and other kitchen appliances may see no change
There is no change in the duty on kitchen appliances like mixer grinders, microwaves, oven, etc. You can expect prices to largely remain the same.
LED lights and LED light fixtures may cost more
The import duty on LED lights and LED light fixtures have increased from 5% to 10%. So, all imported LED bulbs, lights and fixtures may cost more after April 1, 2021.
Solar inverters may cost more with 15% import duty hike
In order to boost local manufacturing, the duty on imported solar inverters has increased from 5% to 20%. So, if you are opting to buy branded solar inverters then prepare to pay more.
Solar lighting devices may cost more
Government has increased the duty on solar lamps from 5% to 15%. This might make branded or imported solar lighting devices expensive.
Cost of TVs, washing machines, fans and other home appliances may remain same
Government hasn’t increased the duty on appliances like TVs, washing machines, fans, etc. This means that prices of these will see no change.
