IPL 2021 Auctions: Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, Shivam Dube unlikely to get takers at the player auctions

IPL 2021 Auctions: Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav, Shivam Dube unlikely to get takers at the player auctions, Indian Premier League 2021 auction is all set to take place on February 18 and ahead of the much-awaited IPL 2021 auction, three Indian players – Piyush Chawla, Kedar Jadhav and Shivam Dube will be tensed as they are unlikely to find any bidders in the upcoming auction.

Generally, IPL franchises consider player’s age and player’s past form while buying a player in the auction, however, with the absence of both, a player is neglected by teams and Jadhav, Chawla and Dube can suffer the same fate.

Kedar Jadhav

Jadhav was in horrible form in IPL 2020 owing to which he has been released by Chennai Super Kings. He scored mere 62 runs in 8 matches. Moreover, Jadhav’s auction price of INR 7.8 crore may have gone against him. However, the only beacon of hope for Kedar is the two fifties he scored for Maharashtra in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament. But, the 35-year-old’s fitness too is an issue. Hence, there’s a high chance that Kedar Jadhav might end up going unsold at the 2021 IPL auction on 18th February.

Piyush Chawla

To his credits, Chawla is two-time IPL winner and the third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament’s history. Also, the leg-spinner had a modest season for CSK, taking 6 wickets from 7 games and conceded more than 9 runs per over in the IPL 2020. But Chawla’s price tag of INR 6.75 crore might go against him.

A left-handed all-rounder Shivam Dube is among those 10 players who are not a part of RCB anymore. Dube has not played up to the expectations of RCB management, who signed him for Rs 5 crores. In IPL 2020, he played 11 matches and managed to score only 129 runs with a poor average of 18.42. He picked only 4 wickets. However, Dube top-scored for Mumbai in SMA 2020-21  with 161 runs in five innings, striking at 138.79 and conceded runs at an economy of 7.50 in the 14 overs he delivered, but Mumbai lost all their five games in the tournament. Can his recent form earn him a contract for IPL 2021? He will have to do that anxious wait.
