Noida: Sharda Hospital to be taken off list of Covid-19 facilities

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: After Child PGI, Sharda Hospital is set to be de-notified as a Covid hospital. The move comes following a directive from ACS Amit Mohan Prasad on Monday. Officials said the decision was taken due to fewer Covid cases being reported in GB Nagar.
While the district retains GIMS in Greater Noida with 215 beds and NCH in Sector 39 with 390 beds as L2 Covid facilities. “We had sent a letter to the state government for reinstatement of earlier facilities, which have been suffering since the hospital was turned into a Covid facility,” said Dr Ajit Kumar, spokesperson of Sharda hospital.
On Sunday, eight active cases were in GIMS, seven in NCH (Sector 39) and two in Sharda hospital. The remaining 34 were in private hospitals.
In Ghaziabad, only Santosh hospital, an L2 and L3 facility with 400 beds, has been retained as a Covid facility, while District Combined Hospital (DWH) and nine private hospitals may resume their regular functioning.
Sanjay Teotia, DWH chief medical superintendent, said: “In accordance with the government order, we will resume our normal functioning from February 3.”
Four fresh Covid-19 cases in Noida, Ghaziabad reports 19
Noida on Monday reported four new cases of Covid, taking its caseload to 25,361, out of which 51 are active. A total of four patients also recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of recoveries to 25, 219. The district’s Covid toll is 91.
In Ghaziabad, 19 people tested positive, taking its tally to 26, 591, out of which 102 are active. Health officials said four more patients recovered too, taking the total recoveries to 26,387.
