Gayle King's daughter, Kirby Bumpus, has tied the knot with Virgil Miller – and their "perfect" wedding took place at none other than Oprah Winfrey's Santa Barbara home!
Gayle revealed the news of the December wedding on CBS This Morning on Monday and shared details with Oprah magazine, where she is the editor-at-large, admitting that pulling everything off was a challenge amid the pandemic. They had to have dress fittings via Zoom with Gayle and Oprah weighing in, while, in a last-minute decision, Kirby's brother, Will, ended up officiating the ceremony where social distancing protocols were followed, she said.
"Nobody knows Kirby the way her brother does, so for him to do the ceremony felt meant to be," Gayle said.
"My son, Will, says, 'We call ourselves a tripod, and that day with Virgil, we became a perfect square,'" Gayle added. "Kirby really is so happy, and nothing beats when your children are happy."
