NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the Union Budget and said it has the vision of 'Aatmanirbharta' (self reliance) and addresses all sections of the society, while keeping farmers and villages at its heart.
Calling the Union Budget "pro-active", PM Modi said it will boost wealth and wellness.
Modi said the Budget has been presented in extraordinary circumstances and has a sense of reality as well as a confidence of development in it.
"This Budget has a special focus on strengthening the agriculture sector and boosting farmers' income. Villages and farmers are at its heart," PM Modi said.
"It contains vision of self-reliance as well as inclusiveness," the PM said praising finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team.
Prime Minister Modi said the Budget will bring several positive changes for individuals, investors, industry and infrastructure sector.
"The Budget boost to infrastructure, structural reforms will give major fillip to growth and job creation, the PM said, adding, "The Budget aims to widen new opportunities for growth, new openings for youth, new high to human resources."
PM Modi asserted that the Budget has provisions for further strengthening APMC mandis through the Agri Infrastructure Fund.
The Budget for MSME sector has been more than doubled to boost its growth and create more employment opportunities, he said.
