Telangana woman receives praise for unconventional career choice
A 30-year-old Telangana woman who works with her husband to support their family has recently come to the attention of MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha for taking up a career path that is generally not taken up by women - auto repair. The woman, Adilaxmi, works with her husband in their automobile repair shop at Sujatha Nagar, near Kothagudem. Their family includes two daughters who are 9 years and 7 years old respectively.
53 BJP workers detained for attacking residence of TRS MLA

SHRC seeks report from civic body on two Miyapur lakes
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the commissioner, GHMC, to submit a report on the condition of two lakes in Miyapur by March 8. The orders followed a complaint filed by an activist regarding pollution in the lakes amounting to a human rights violation. Residents have been complaining about the poor water quality of the Meedhikunta lake and Kaidhammakunta in Miyapur with authorities for long, but in vain.
GHMC applies for ‘water plus’ cert
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has applied for the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission Water Plus City’ certification. According to Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, a city can be declared as ‘water plus’ if all wastewater released from households, commercial establishments, etc is treated satisfactorily before being releasing into the environment.
