The Haryana government on Sunday restored Internet services in Yamunanagar, Rewari, and Palwal. At present, only 14 voice calls will be available in 14 districts of Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Hisar, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Sirsa, Sonipat, and Jhajjar, other internet services will be closed.
The government has taken this decision to keep the situation peaceful in view of the peasant movement. The Home Department has extended the period of suspension of 2G, 3G, 4G, CDMA, GPRS, SMS services (majority SMS only), and all dongle services till 1 February 2021 at 5 pm in 14 districts.
The state government has decided to discontinue internet services to prevent the spread of rumors and rumors through various social media platforms like SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter, etc. Taking care of public safety, Haryana Home Secretary Rajiv Arora has ordered the internet services to be discontinued under Rule 2 of the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency and Public Safety) Rules, 2017.
All companies offering telecom services in Haryana, including BSNL (Areas covered under Haryana), will have to ensure compliance with this order. Keeping the peace and public safety in 14 districts, the government has issued these orders. Any person found guilty of the violation of these orders will be liable for legal action under the relevant provisions.
Stopping to control the situation:
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the government took steps to ban the internet in view of the situation after 26 January, now services are being restored. This step was taken to keep the situation under control.
