Letter: Thanks, Mitt Romney, for being the voice of reason

Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, questions Secretary of State nominee Antony Blinken during his confirmation hearing to be Secretary of State before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021. (Graeme Jennings/Pool via AP)

Country before party – hmm, we’ll see. The Senate is unlikely to get the required seventeen Republican votes to convict Donald Trump. Sadly, many of our elected officials are beholden to their constituents rather than their oath of office. Yes, we elected them but we also expect them to do the right thing – it’s that simple.
So, thank you to Mitt Romney for your integrity and consistent voice of common sense and reason throughout these crazy times. You have done the right thing.
