BJP in Raj hails Union Budget, but Congress dubs it 'disappointing'

Jaipur, Feb 1 (UNI) In Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) praised the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday, whereas the Congress slammed it and termed it ''disappointing''.
BJP state president Dr Satish Poonia said it will work to speed up the economy and empower every citizen of the country financially.
"The present general budget is in accordance with the intention of public welfare and self-reliant India,'' he added.
To substantiate it, he said, in agriculture sector, Rs 75,100 crore has been allocated for farmers and the government also announced an increase in agriculture credit target to Rs 16.5 lakh crore in FY 2021-22.
The leader said 1.5 lakh jobs, one crore new connections of Ujjwala scheme, and LPG from pipeline to hundred new cities were announced in it, which will benefit common man.
Under One Nation, One Ration Card scheme, beneficiaries can take their ration from anywhere in the country, he said, adding that the scheme is operational in 32 states and union territories. As many as 15,000 government schools will be developed and 100 new Sainik schools will be made, he said.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Gulab Chand Kataria and Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Singh Rathore welcomed the Union Budget, describing it as balanced.
BJP MP CP Joshi termed it as a budget in the interest of every starta of the society.
On the other hand, Congress state president and Education Minister Govindra Singh Dotasara termed it as disappointing, saying there is nothing in it as per people's expectations.
He said, ''The Central Government has decided to sell airports, roads, power transmission lines and warehouses which cannot be called good.''
''Why people, who have sold their souls, will not sell government property,''? Mr Dotasara asked.
Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariwas also described it as disappointing, saying unemployment has reached heights due to which youths are commiting suicide.
''Budget did not address the real issues,'' he added.
