Internet search giant Google has added the support to have Street View experience while seeing the navigation screen by adding a split-screen mode for Android users, claims a report by 9to5Google.

As per the report, the new split-view UI launches automatically when you open Street View after dropping a map pin. Alternatively, if users access the Street View feature directly from a location’s listing, Google Maps is claimed to show the standard interface covering the entire display. In such cases, there will be a minimise button in the bottom-right corner.

The report claims that Street View split-screen is being widely rolled out via a server-side update. However, it is not rolled out for iOS users yet.

Back in August, Google announced new visual improvements and features that the company plans to roll out to Maps app. One of them was to add highly detailed street information that shows accurate shape and width of a road to scale. The company had claimed that they will be able to see exactly where sidewalks, crosswalks and more are located.

Other than this, Google had also said that Maps are set to get more detail and granularity to its map with more accurate colour-mapping algorithmic technique.
