A progressive budget towards self reliance: Dhumal

Hamirpur (HP), Feb 1 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal on Monday congratulated Union finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a progressive budget that would make India self reliant in all fields.

Commenting on the budget proposals for the year 2021-22, Dhumal said that this budget will contribute in creating such an environment that will help the nation progress further.

He said that in the current circumstances when COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc all over the world, all such areas that needed help had been taken care of fully including the health sector. A budget of 2 lakh 38 thousand crores has been kept for the health sector and with this allocation; the country will get more facilities in the health sector.

He said that important steps have also been taken in the field of defence, earlier the weapon which we used to import, now the country was exporting them to foreign countries and that was a great achievement for the country.

Dhumal said that in the agriculture sector, a provision of 75,000 crores has been made for the farmers. It would help the farmers to progress further without any hitch.

While congratulating and thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Finance Minister for presenting a good budget, the former Chief Minister expressed confidence that the economy of the country will gain momentum from this budget.
