Randy Orton and Edge to renew 2020 rivalry as WWE confirm both wrestlers will start Men’s Royal Rumble match

Randy Orton and Edge will renew their rivalry by starting the 30-man Royal Rumble match on Sunday night.

The Rated-R Superstar has not been seen in a WWE ring since tearing his tricep in a defeat to Orton at Backlash last June.

WWE have announced The Viper will be entrant No.1 in the Royal Rumble match, while Edge will come in at No.2.

Edge made a shock in-ring comeback in last year’s Royal Rumble match and went on to fight Orton at WrestleMania 36 and Backlash.

However, his untimely injury scuppered the chance to work with other top WWE stars.

During Edge’s absence, Orton won the WWE Championship from Drew McIntyre, before losing it to the same man 22 days later.

He has been in an enjoyable feud with ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss ever since.

Orton set The Fiend on fire at TLC last month and RKO’d Bliss on the latest Raw episode.

And it would not be surprising if The Fiend or Bliss cost Orton during the Royal Rumble match.

Meanwhile, in his promo announcing his participation at the Rumble, Edge revealed his desire to reclaim the world title he never lost when he was forced to retire from wrestling 10 years ago.

A Royal Rumble match win would earn him a world title opportunity against the current champions McIntyre or Roman Reigns.

McIntyre defends his WWE Championship against Goldberg at the Royal Rumble, while Kevin Owens challenges Roman Reigns for the Universal title at the pay-per-view.
