Vaccination to frontline workers in Surat to begin today

Surat: The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) is set to vaccinate its frontline workers from January 31.
“We are planning to roll out the vaccination programme for frontline workers like police, SMC employees, revenue employees in the city from Sunday,” SMC commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani told TOI.
There 80 vaccination centres across the city which will be increased to 100, Pani said, adding that 100 people get the vaccine shot per day at each centre.
According to SMC officials, the first phase of the vaccination of healthcare workers will be completed by the second week of February and then the second dose of vaccine will begin alongside the first round of vaccination to healthcare workers.
