Rajeev Ranjan is new TN Chief Secy, Shanmugam made Advisor to Govt

Chennai, Jan 31 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday
announamed appointment of senior IAS officer Rajeev Ranjan
as the Chief Secretary of the State.
Mr Ranjan, who was last week repatriated from the Centre
to his parent cadre (Tamil Nadu), “on the request” of the
State government, succeeds K Shanmugam, who retired
from service today.
Meanwhile, Mr Shanmugam, who was given two extensions as
Chief Secretary, was appointed as Advisor to the government
for a period of one year.
Like his predecessor Shanmugam, Mr Ranjan also belonged to
the 1985 batch of the IAS.
Mr Ranjan will superannuate in September this year.

V K Sasikala, who was discharged from Victoria Hospital
in Bengaluru today, created a flutter when the car in which
she came out of the hospital sported the flag of AIADMK.
