The Tamil Nadu government on Sunday extended the unlock guidelines till February 28 to contain the Covid-19 situation in the state.
According to the fresh SOP released by the Tamil Nadu government, classes can commence for 9 to 11th standard students from February 8 in the state. Classes for UG and PG departments can also commence from February 8.
The notification also stated that only 50 per cent occupancy is allowed in closed areas for marriage, political and religious events.
Swimming pool access to public can be provided.
Ealier on Sunday, the Centre allowed cinema halls and movie theatres to operate with 100 per cent capacity from Tuesday.
Releasing the latest SOP for the functioning of the movie halls and theatres with full occupancy, the Centre suggested digital booking of tickets, staggered show timings and longer intervals.
"Number of people in the elevators shall be restricted, duly maintaining physical distancing norms. Efforts shall be made to avoid overcrowding in the common areas, lobbies and washrooms during the intermission. Audience may be encouraged to avoid movement during the intermission. Longer intermissions may be used to allow audience seated in different rows of the auditorium to move in a staggered manner. Staggered show timings shall be followed for multiple screens to avoid crowding," the order stated.
Meanwhile, India has extended the temporary restrictions imposed on flights from UK to India till February 14.
