HYDERABAD: Four persons, which includes two Tibet refugees residing in India, were arrested on Saturday by Cyber Crime sleuths of Hyderabad police as they were allegedly involved in loan app harassment case.
Joint commissioner of police Avinash Mohanty said that Niranjan Umapathi and Usha who are residents of Bangalore, and Tibet refugees- Yeshi Gyatso and Nyichak Dhondup- were all arrested in Bengaluru.
The accused were allegedly associated with 19 Apps through which loans were distributed for the loanees. Many of the persons who failed to return the loans within 7 days, were defamed by making phone calls and sending messages to all the persons, who are on the phone call list of the loanees, by the companies associated with accused,
Police said that the accused had set up a call center, with 200 employees to make calls to defaulters and harass them to return the money.
During the investigation, police came to know that these four accused have been working as Directors of two different companies located in Bangalore and they were hired by two Chinese nationals- Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cheen Wu, and Vice-President Andy Lu Wenjie- who are suspected to be residing in China. After setting up the call centers in India, both these Chinese nationals left India.
All these four arrested persons were directly reporting to these two Chinese nationals. The arrested Directors told police that they came to know about the job opportunity through an advertisement. After they applied, they were offered job with a salary of Rs 1 lakh per month.
