Telangana reports 186 new Covid cases

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Saturday recorded 186 new cases of Covid-19 and two deaths, even as the number of active cases in the state further reduced to 2,354 and less than 1000 of them being hospitalised. The state has so far recorded 2,94,306 cases of Covid-19 and the death toll so far is 1,598, while 2,90,354 people have recovered from the infection in the state.
The recovery rate has meanwhile improved to 98.65 percent in the state. This is better than the country average of 96.9 percent, while the case fatality rate (CFR) in the state is 0.54 percent as against the country average CFR of 1.4 percent. So far 70 percent of the patients have been asymptomatic patients while 30 percent had symptoms.
On Saturday, 33,088 samples were tested for Covid-19. 90 percent of these were tested in government testing centres. Telangana has now completed conducting 78.2 lakh tests for Covid-19 and has reached 2.10 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 34 new cases on Saturday. This was followed by 12 cases in Ranga Reddy, 11 cases in Karimnagar, 10 cases in Medchal Malkajgiri and Warangal Urban each, while the remaining districts recorded upto 10 new cases.
