NOIDA /GHAZIABAD: GB Nagar witnessed a turnout of 67% on Friday, the fourth day of the Covid-19 vaccination drive. A total of 3,502 healthcare workers (HCWs) got inoculated at 53 session sites.
Dr Neeraj Tyagi, district immunisation officer (DIO) and in-charge of Covid vaccination process in GB Nagar, said that the turnout was much better on Friday compared to the last two rounds. “While there were glitches in the Co-WIN in the first half of the day, things improved in the second half,” said Tyagi, who also got vaccinated on Friday.
Sharda hospital, which saw the lowest turnout of 11% on January 22 and 26% on January 28, managed to improve its numbers on Friday and registered a 98% turnout. However, names of the hospital’s entire ICU team were missing from the list of recipients on the Co-Win portal.
Dr Abhishek Deshwal, ICU in-charge of Sharda hospital, said, “The app didn’t show the names of eight members of our ICU team. We were the only L3 Covid hospital in the district but even then we were left out of the vaccination process. We have written to the district health department and district magistrate regarding the same.”
Besides, nearly 13,000 frontline workers, mostly from the revenue and police department, have registered for the second phase of the vaccination drive from GB Nagar. “The dates for the second phase are yet to be announced, but registrations are underway,” Tyagi said.
