New Delhi, Jan 30(UNI) Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday paid homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 73rd death anniversary.
Paying floral tributes to the Mahatma at Rajghat, he said that the Mahatma's entire life was dedicated to the uplift of backward and deprived sections of society.
Mr Naidu said that Gandhi's ideals today serve as a guiding light for the welfare of the world.
He said,'While remembering the Mahatma, we should also aim to follow his example'.
The VP said, 'Mahatma Gandhi was a lifelong practitioner of peace, non-violence and selfless service who through his words and deeds left an indelible mark in history and inspired many the world over to take the path of non violence'.
