Ben Stokes, Archer, Rory Burns hits ground ahead of first test

Chennai, Jan 30 (UNI) After completing the mandatory six day
quarantine period, England all rounder Ben Stokes, speedster
Jofra Archer and reserve opener Rory Burns had a training
session at the historic Chepauk staidum ahead of the first
of the two tests against India beginning on February five.
The trio along with reserve players and support staff, who
were not part of the Sri Lanka test series, which England
won 2-0, landed in the city much earlier and went on
quarantine.
After clearing the three mandatory corona tests, the trio
had their first training session at the Chepauk today under
hot sun.
"The first group of players--Archer, Burns and Stokes--will
practice daily in the morning for the next three days.
The training is limited to a two-hour session," England
media manager Danny Reuben said.
After the first test upon landing here on January 27 from
Sri Lanka, the full England team members underwent the
second COVID-19 test yesterday and all the results returned
negative, he said.
Both the Indian and England team would be having their first
training session from February two.
