Noida: Okhla Bird Sanctuary is all set to host the annual bird festival on February 2.
“The annual bird festival will be held at the sanctuary. The event shall continue for around three hours. Birders will be able to explore the park and the forest department will assist,” said district forest officer PK Srivastava.
Bird photographers and enthusiasts have been asked to contact the forest department by email to register themselves. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary was shut during the lockdown and opened to visitors ahead of the migratory season. During the bird flu scare, parts of the bird sanctuary remained shut to visitors.
According to the forest department, the sanctuary till December had a bird count of around 8,000, which is likely to have gone up now. In the last three years, the bird park has witnessed a count of approximately 15,000 birds annually during the migratory season.
