Four booked for beating up, urinating on teen from SC community in Tamil Nadu

TRICHY: Four people were booked under several sections, including the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015 for allegedly beating and urinating on an 18-year-old man, hailing from the scheduled caste community.
The case was booked on Thursday against Moorthy from Amaradakki village, Pradeep and Pradeep Thambi from Thanikondan village and another unidentified person, all hailing from an intermediate community.
According to the Mimisal police, the incident took place last Sunday when the victim was fishing in a village pond along with his relatives.
Pradeep, who was passing by that side engaged in an altercation with the victim and allegedly abused him using his caste. When the victim resisted, he was beaten up.
In his complaint, the victim said that he was abducted in a car by a few men from the intermediate community. They took him to an isolated spot and thrashed him besides urinating on him.
He, however managed to escape from there and got admitted in the Aranthangi government hospital on Monday and lodged a complaint with the Mimisal police.
Ppolice have booked the four under section 342 (wrongful confinement), 365 (abduction), 294 (b) (obscene act to insult), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) of IPC r/w 3 (1) (r), 3 (1) (s) and 3 (2) (va) of SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Amendment Act 2015.
The case is being investigated by deputy superintendent of police A Sivaraman.
