Mexican e-commerce revenues rise 81% in 2020 on Covid impact

E-commerce revenues in Mexico surged by an unprecedented 81 percent year on year in 2020 as a whole to reach a record MXN 316 billion, according to the latest data from the AMVO online sales association cited by website Xataka. The study said the results were heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, leading to surging online orders of food deliveries, fashion and beauty and personal care products above all, with e-commerce now accounting for 9 percent of total retail spend in Mexico.
