Update: The lockout was lifted at 12:23 p.m. Normal activities are being resumed.

Original story: Bridge City ISD has placed all schools and administration buildings under a lockout due to a shooting in the area, the district reported just before noon Friday.

“All students and staff are safe and accounted for, and we do not believe this to be a threat to any of our campuses. BCISD and local police are monitoring the situation,” the message said.

Orangefield ISD also said they were “closely monitoring the events in Bridge City” but that “there is currently no danger to any of our campuses.”
