Five patients die in Romanian hospital fire

Bucharest, Jan 29 (UNI) A fire broke out at a COVID-19 Hospital here, killing at least 5 people, officials said on Friday.

The fire had broken out in one of the buildings of the Matei Bals Hospital in the wee hours of Friday.

Around 100 patients were evacuated. The Hospital is one of the largest and most sough COVID-19 hospitals in Romania.

According to media reports, an unspecified number of people were also sustained minor injuries.

Three people were found dead at the hospital while one was unable to be resuscitated. Fifth deceased was found in washroom, the officials said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
