THANE: The Thane crime branch rescued a seven-year-old boy after he was kidnapped on Sunday by his mother’s live-in partner. The accused, Rinku Saroj (35), who hails from Uttar Pradesh, was arrested.
An officer said the boy’s mother (30) was in a live-in relationship with Saroj. “He wanted her to come to UP with him, but she refused. In a fit of rage, he kidnapped her son on January 24, and planned to take him to UP on a train,” said assistant inspector Praful Jadhav. Sub inspector Ashok Mane got in touch with the railway police, who spotted Saroj with the boy on a train heading to UP. Saroj was nabbed and the boy was brought to Thane on Tuesday.
