US spending on subscription entertainment jumps 37% in 2020, boosted by lockdown measures - DEG

People in the US spent over USD 26.5 billion on digital home entertainment, rentals (VoD) and subscriptions, an increase of more than 32 percent from the year before, according to a report by DEG (the home entertainment group). Specifically, spending on VoD lifted 16 percent while for subscription, it increased 37 percent, boosted by the introduction of new services such as HBO Max and Peacock.
