Vidatel loses court appeal over Unitel

Angolan company Vidatel, owned by Isabel dos Santos, has lost an appeal before the Paris Court of Appeal, following litigation regarding operator Unitel, reports Expresso. This means that the Angolan businesswoman will have to pay USD 339.4 million in compensation to PT Ventures (PTV), owned by Sonangol. The appeal followed a ruling in favour of PT Ventures in February 2019 by the International Chamber of Commerce for PT Ventures.
