The couple’s homes in Mumbai, Gurugram and Alibaug all follow distinctly different aesthetics. Which one is your favourite?
Though we are only a month into 2021, Virat Kohli seems to have had a big year already thanks to the birth of his and Anushka Sharma’s baby girl on January 11, 2021. Not to mention his elation at India’s recent historic win in the Gabba test match against Australia. The cricketer may not have been on the field for the Border-Gavaskar trophy, but he made sure to cheer on his team and the management with his words and spirit.
Touted as one of the best contemporary batsmen in the world, Kohli has added numerous laurels to his career over the years—both through his captaincy in the Indian Cricket Team, and as part of the Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Along with coveted awards like the Padma Shri, the cricketer has also amassed an impressive list of properties over the years. Take a tour through all his luxurious homes below.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's sprawling apartment in Mumbai's Worli neighbourhood sits on the 35th floor of a three-tower complex named Omkar 1973, and spans over 7,000sqft. Kohli reportedly bought the apartment in 2016 for Rs 34 crore, which serves as the couple, their new baby, and their dog Dude's primary residence. The spacious apartment comes with Victorian wood-panelled walls and dark wooden flooring that lend an air of elegance to the space.
The cosy TV room features a mix of modern decor and quirky personalised elements. You can spot memorabilia from the couple’s unforgettable wedding in Tuscany here—specifically a caricature illustration of them on their wedding day. Also featuring a glossy mantle and a mirrored wall sectioned with wooden frames, the space creates a contemporary, yet opulent vibe.
Green suede sofas, patterned throw pillows and cushions, and an ornate mirror characterise the couple’s living room. Their bedroom, however, features charcoal grey walls and a comfy bed with a dark tufted headboard. Highlighting psychedelic wallpaper, distinct artwork, and a pastel green dressing table, a separate vanity room for Sharma also doubles as the spot for at-home gym sessions and workouts. Another luxury that the couple’s home affords is expansive balconies that overlook the city, often decorated with fresh flowers during festivals.
Reportedly located in the upscale DLF Phase 1 neighbourhood, Virat Kohli’s bungalow combines luxe elements and a modern aesthetic. Said to be worth Rs 80 crores, the house features pristine marbles floors and multiple outdoor spaces to hang out in.
What seems to be the cricketer’s favourite spot is the TV room, which highlights a large grey L-shaped sofa, and a dark wooden console below the wall-mounted TV. The space also includes a statement lamp in the corner and a solid wooden coffee table. Elaborate hanging light fixtures that mark the second floor landing, and glass banisters supporting marble staircases lend a grandiose vibe to the home. Kohli’s bedroom in Gurugram features a dark wooden low bed and matching floors, while the living room highlights a statement grey stone wall.
Just like Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli own a serene farmhouse in Alibaug, just a few hours away from Mumbai. According to The Quint, the couple spent the initial period of the lockdown last year in this holiday home accompanied by Dude and just a few essentials, aka their workout gear. This peaceful getaway comes with a combination of ivory walls and rustic light wood interiors, giving it a quaint, countryside finish.
