BHOPAL: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Mohammed Suleman and Health commissioner Dr Sanjay Goel were vaccinated against coronavirus on Thursday. As many as 63,508 people were vaccinated on the day thus taking the vaccination tally to 1,95,572 in the state so far. The state could achieve 59 per cent of the set target on the day. Vaccinations were carried out at 1117 session sites.
Bhopal recorded 3743 vaccination -49% -on day at 76 session sites, while Indore recorded 4950 vaccinations at 89 session sites.
Shajapur stood highest in achieving the target vaccination with 82% followed by Dindori 81 per cent and Burhanpur 74 per cent.
Moreover, 134 facilities with over 100 Heath Care Workers (HCW) on list are yet to be started in MP. While overall coverage in the state has improved, there are 802 facilities with more than 100 pending healthcare worker load and 134 out of these facilities have not yet started, according to a health department review.
Ten such districts have been identified for improvement. It includes Mandla where there are 10 facilities with more than 100 pending HCWs and not yet started. Other non-starters include, Dindori (9), Rewa (7), Jabalpur (6), Damoh (6). Bhopal, Indore, Betul, Khargone And Shahdol have 5 cases each.
MoP up sessions from Feb 3
Mop up sessions for Heath Care Workers (HCWs) would be conducted from February 3. Sessions will be conducted at 100 sites across Madhya Pradesh. Health department is planning on including district hospitals, Community health care centres and Civil hospitals for the mop up round for health care workers who missed the jab in the first round.
No new case in 10 dists
Ten districts including Vidisha, Morena, Anuppur, Sidhi, Datia, Mandla, Ashok Nagar, Panna, Dindori and Agar-Malwa did not report any new corona positive case on the day. The state reported 1.3 per cent corona positivity rate. Bhopal reported 59 new cases taking the tally to 42,371 and the toll here stands at 608. Eighteen new cases in Indore pushed the tally to 57,377. Here 924 people have died battling the infection.
