IPL 2021 auction – 5 IPL stars who are likely to go unsold at IPL 14 auctions: With a few weeks left for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auctions, teams have started making strategies on who they would like to buy. There is no doubt that players like Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith will start bidding wars, but there are a few who may go unsold. Players with poor IPL records, bad form r no international cricket are the ones who will most probably fall in the unsold category. Here are 5 players who may not be part of this IPL 2021.
Kedar Jadhav:
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a lot of criticism after Kedar Jadhav was bought for Rs 7.8 crore at the 2018 auctions. The right-handed batsman was a regular in the ODI team back then. But an injury in the first match, ended his run even before it started.

For the next two seasons, Jadhav form continued to hit a new low. In the 2019 season, he scored 162 runs at an average of 18. The following season he scored just 62 runs.
It was no surprise when MS Dhoni and CSK decided to let him go, given his failure to justify the massive price tag. At the age of 36, out of the Indian team, and no big innings to his credit, Jadhav’s time in IPL seems to be over.
The only card which can come to his rescue is that he is an Indian player and can be used as a utility player.
Jimmy Neesham:
One of the best all-rounders in the world, Neesham has been a vital player for New Zealand’s success. Owing to his performance for the Kiwis, he bagged an IPL contract with Kings XI Punjab. However, he had a tournament to forget. He played just five games, and managed to score just 19 runs. Furthermore, he bagged only two wickets in these matches at an economy of close to 10.
Nathan Coulter-Nile:
It was quite surprising to see the Australian fast-bowler being released by Champions Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL auctions 2021. Although he did not have the best of the seasons, he did produce some crucial spells during the side’s victory in the final. Moreover, he is considered one of the best in business when it comes to the shortest format.
However, his tryst with injuries has kept him out for a majority of his IPL career. In 2020, he had missed a few matches initially. In 2018, he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), only to be ruled out due to an injury. His history with injuries might prove to be a big point when franchises mull over him.
Moeen Ali:
As Moeen Ali is a spin-bowling all-rounder, it was obvious that he would be a good prospect for the teams playing in the IPL. However, he was not contributing enough with the ball to call him a proper all-rounder in the cash-rich league. In the 2020 season, RCB didn’t play him for most of the season.
Harbhajan Singh:
Harbhajan Singh is an IPL legend, but it is not a surprise that CSK ended his contract ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions. He is now 40, and has not played cricket for over a year now. The former off-spinner pulled out of IPL 2020 due citing personal reasons.
