The News Broadcasters Association (NBA) on Wednesday strongly condemned the alleged attack on media persons and the breaking of their equipment during coverage of a tractor rally launched by farmers in protest against the new agricultural laws.

The NBA said in a statement that both the print and electronic media have been covering farmers' protests on the outskirts of Delhi during the past two months in a 'fair, balanced and objective manner'.

The statement said that the NBA strongly condemned the attack on media persons and the breaking of their equipment during coverage of a tractor rally taken out by farmers in Delhi yesterday in protest against the new agricultural laws.

The statement said that the media persons covering Tuesday's tractor rally were discharging their professional duty to collect information and disseminate it to the public and any use of force and violence against them would be the voice of democracy and media. It is like strangling freedom.

The NBA demanded that the persons or miscreants responsible for the attack on journalists should be identified and a case should be registered under the law as these elements were hindering the media persons from discharging their duties and their rights enshrined in the Constitution. Was trampled.
