The 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS is the British manufacturer’s most powerful and advanced Speed Triple yet. It now boasts a bigger engine, more power, and refreshed design and styling as well. It also has a comprehensive electronics package, including features cornering ABS, front-wheel lift control, traction control among many others. The 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS is powered by a 1160cc liquid-cooled 12-valve DOHC inline-three-cylinder engine that puts out 177.5 bhp and 125 Nm. It gets five riding modes, LED lighting, a TFT instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, rider aids like cornering ABS, traction control, etc. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 16.95 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The compact new bodywork is shaped by newly designed elements such as carbon-fibre front mudguard, colour-coded belly pan and seat cowl with an interchangeable pillion seat, and a new compact tail unit.

The very first Triumph Speed Triple, the T309 was launched in the late 90s and the current-gen motorcycle sold in India was introduced in 2018.
The new Speed Triple 1200 RS will have a colour TFT screen for the instrument cluster which also features Bluetooth connectivity which means the rider can connect their smartphone to their motorcycle and receive notifications on the go.
Rider electronics onboard the 1200 RS include Optimised Cornering ABS and switchable Optimised Cornering Traction Control (with IMU), Front Wheel Lift Control, and Cruise Control. It also gets Triumph Shift Assist up and down quickshifter.
The new Speed Triple comes with a five-inch TFT instrument cluster, LED lighting with self-cancelling indicators, five configurable riding modes (rain, road, sport, track, and rider), and a keyless entry system.
The new Speed Triple 1200 RS weighs in at 198 kg (wet) and has a 15.5-litre fuel tank. The wheelbase is 1445 mm, handlebar width is 792 mm, and the seat height is 830 mm.
The 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS comes with Metzeler Racetec RR K3 120/70 ZR17 up front and Metzeler Racetec RR K3 190/55 ZR17 at the rear.
The 2021 Speed Triple gets twin 320mm floating discs at the front, with Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers, OC-ABS, radial master cylinder with separate reservoir. At the rear, it gets a single 220mm disc, with Brembo twin-piston calliper, OC-ABS, rear master cylinder with separate reservoir.
The new Speed Triple 1200 RS comes with Ohlins 43 mm NIX30 upside-down forks with adjustable preload, rebound and compression damping, 120 mm travel upfront. Over at the rear, it has Öhlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock with preload, rebound and compression damping, 120 mm wheel travel.
The 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS has a new frame - an aluminium twin-spar frame, bolt-on aluminium rear subframe. It gets an aluminium single-sided swingarm. The wheels are cast aluminium 17x3.50 in (front) & 17x6.00 in (rear).
The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission with a wet, multi-plate, slip clutch. The exhaust has stainless steel 3 into 1 header system with an underslung primary silencer and side-mounted secondary silencer.
The Speed Triple 1200 RS is powered by a 1160cc liquid-cooled 12-valve DOHC inline-three-cylinder engine with a 90.00 mm bore and a 60.8 mm stroke. The engine puts out 177.5 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 125 Nm at 9,000 rpm. It gets multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with electronic throttle control.
