Disney’s upcoming Pinocchio live-action movie has previously hired Tom Hanks to play Gepetto. Deadline has reported more details about the movie’s casting.
Luke Evans, who played Gaston in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, will play the lead villain Coachman in Pinocchio. The movie will be directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis. The Pinocchio live-action movie will debut only on Disney+. The movie’s release date isn’t announced yet.
Guillermo del Toro is also directing an animated Pinocchio movie for Netflix. The movie stars Gregory Mann, Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor, Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Ron Perlman, and others. Principal photography for the movie had started in fall 2019. Director del Toro is working with animation director Mark Gustafson and Patrick McHale has written the script for Pinocchio animated movie.
