Orient Cements reported 7.11% growth in total revenues for the Dec-20 quarter on consolidated basis at Rs604.61cr. The growth does look tepid on a yoy basis but it is coming off much lower levels since the June quarter as the COVID and the restrictions imposed by the government on construction activity and factories took its toll.
The consolidated Profit after tax (PAT) for the Dec-20 quarter turned around to Rs53.88cr from a loss of Rs-5.68cr in the Dec-19 quarter as the quarter was helped by lower raw material costs as well as lower finance costs. Orient had made an operating loss in the Dec-19 quarter. PAT margins turned around to 8.91% in the Dec-20 quarter.
