Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Thursday fell by Rs 59 to Rs 6,137 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend in spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for February delivery eased by Rs 59, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 6,137 per five quintal in 35,985 lots.

Guar gum for March delivery dropped by Rs 68, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 6,194 per five quintal in 21,240 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
