Hindustan Unilever posted an 18.87% yoy growth in net profit on a standalone basis at Rs 1,921 crore for the Dec-20 quarter. The performance was weaker than the September quarter as the sequential sales were lower by 4.3%.
Total standalone revenues came in at Rs11,682cr representing a growth of 20.48% on a yoy basis. The growth in the current quarter was largely earned through focused strategies like better mobility, innovations in delivery, market development etc.
The EBIDTA for the quarter came in at Rs2,854cr representing a growth of 16.7% on a yoy basis. This resulted in the EBITDA margins at an extremely healthy level of 24%, one of the best margins the company has enjoyed in recent times.
The big boost came from the growth of the Nutrition business as well as the recovery in the discretionary segments. The management of the company confirmed in the presser that demand outlook was improving and the rural demand boost was likely to be followed by an urban demand pick-up too.
