Punjab records 5.18% Covid-19 death rate

CHANDIGARH: Punjab's struggle with high Covid-19 mortality rate continued as the death rate was recorded at 5.18% on Wednesday. The fatality rate was as high as 8.39% on Tuesday.
Of total deaths reported in last 24 hours, three people succumbed to the virus in Amritsar, two each in Patiala, Tarn Taran and Ludhiana and one in Mohali.
As many as 38 fresh cases were reported in Ludhiana, 28 in Mohali, 26 in Jalandhar, 16 in Gurdaspur, 14 in Amritsar, 12 in Patiala, 11 in Ropar, nine in Faridkot, seven in Moga, six in Hoshiarpur, five in Fatehgarh Sahib, four in Pathankot, three in Sangrur and one each on Ferozepur, Tarn Taran and Kapurthala.
11 deaths, 131 cases on Tuesday
As many as 11 people died while 131 fresh cases were reported on January 26. Two deaths each were reported in Bathinda and Ludhiana and one each in Fazilka, Faridkot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Patiala.
