Mumbai reported 342 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, while six more patients succumbed to the infection, the city civic body said. With this, the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 3,06,735, while the death toll increased to 11,313 in the financial capital, said an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Also, 778 patients were discharged from hospitals, pushing the tally of recovered cases to 2,88,801, he said. There are 5,716 active cases in the city. (PTI)

Coronavirus Vaccine LIVE Updates | Over 20 lakh beneficiaries inoculated in India

Over 20 lakh healthcare workers across the country have received COVID-19 vaccine jabs till yesterday evening, as per provisional reports, the Union health ministry said yesterday. The ministry said that on the eleventh day of the nationwide immunisation drive, 5,615 beneficiaries were vaccinated till 7 pm in five states -- Tamil Nadu (4926), Karnataka (429), Rajasthan (216), Telangana (35) and Andhra Pradesh (9) -- through 194 sessions.
