A man who spread Russian misinformation during the 2016 election using the Twitter handle “Ricky Vaughn” was accused by the U.S. of violating a Reconstruction-era law that deprives individuals of their right to vote.

Douglass Mackey, who was charged with election interference stemming from a voter disinformation campaign he waged in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election, was arrested Wednesday in West Palm Beach, Florida, Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme said.
