One dies, another injured as car meets with road accident in Thane

Thane, Jan 27 (UNI) One person died on the spot and another was seriously injured when a car they were travelling in crashed into a roadside tree in Upavan locality of the city early on Wednesday.
The duo was proceeding in the car to the Veera Munda Chowk in the city in the morning. When their car reached Upavan, it smashed into the tree on the footpath, police said.
In this accident, Shivani Bhanushali (25), who was on the wheels, was badly injured and the co-passenger Sumit Dhakankar (33) died on the spot.
Injured woman was admitted to a private hospital for medical treatment, while the body of the dead man was sent for post-mortem.
The Chitalsar police are probing into the accident, sources added.
