Kelowna expresses concerns over lesser revenue from hotels

The hotel industry is a sector that has been particularly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As per new data released by BC’s finance ministry, COVID-19 has dealt a huge blow to Okanagan hotels and motels. The stats highlight a significant decline in hotel tax revenue that directly affects tourism organizations and their ability to properly market the area towards prospective tourists. These funds are important, and hence, they have expressed concerns over lesser flow of marketing dollars as a result of decrease in hotel tax revenue.
