Suryapet: Huzurnagar MLA Shanampudi Saidi Reddy on Wednesday said TPCC President and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy was synonymous with corruption and that as Housing Minister in the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh, the number of Indiramma houses he sanctioned was more than the number of families in his constituency.
Speaking at a media conference, he said that besides housing, 180 packages were allocated to a follower of Uttam Kumar Reddy in Pulichinthala project. “The Congress president must desist from making baseless allegations against the TRS and its leaders since people were not willing to believe them,” he said, adding that leaders and experts from across the world had termed Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme as a wonder, but Uttam Kumar Reddy continues to level false allegations against the State government on the project.
Saidi Reddy said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has taken up irrigation projects to provide irrigation facility to farmers to facilitate their welfare and restore the past glory to the agriculture sector. The State government, he said, was also extending 24 hours free electricity supply to the farm sector and the State had witnessed significant development in the last six years due to the measures taken up by the Chief Minister. He questioned as to whether Uttam Kumar Reddy was blind to these developments in every area of the State.
He said that Uttam Kumar Reddy was making irrelevant comments against the State government only to protect his position in the Congress.
