Post participation in tractor rally in Delhi, ryots returning to Punjab create traffic jam on GT road

Ambala, Jan 27 (UNI) Farmers who participated in a rally in Delhi have started returning to Punjab and as a result there are endless lines of tractors which has resulted in traffic jam on the GT Road.
Hundreds of farmers crossed Ambala and Shambhu barrier in Punjab with their high-tech tractors and tractor laden trailers to return to their native villages.
The tractors carried the flags of various unions as was seen while going to Delhi prior to Republic Day January 26. The Ambala police was deployed in large number on Haryana-Punjab border to control the traffic jam.
Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Vice President Gulab Singh alleged that Deep Sidhu was inducted to reach the Red Fort in Delhi under the conspiracy well thought by the BJP leadership to scuttle the farmers' struggle against the anti-farmer laws. He said the police was not active to control the mobs that had surged on the route approved for the tractor rally.
He further alleged that instead of sending the tractors on approved routes, the police were instrumental to divert the tractors towards the Red Fort so that the anti social elements could create situation to defame the Kisan Unions holding them responsible for the chaos created on the Red Fort. He said it was government sponsored game and the BKU condemns it.
BKU President Gurnam Singh Charuni condemned the mischievous elements to give the farmer struggle a religious colour and said Deep Sidhu was an agent of the government. He said through a video loaded on social media, that to give the Kisan movement religious colour was condemnable because the movement was people’s movement and had no concern of religion.
He said there was no programme to go to the Red Fort side. Deep Sidhu had gone to the Fort side against the wishes of the farmers ' leaders. He said they played in the hands of anti-farmers elements. He appealed to the farmers the movement was of the farmers and for the farmers. They should not be misled by elements like Deep Sidhu. He alleged that Delhi Police did not listen to their demand for the route which did not touch the Red Fort. He said yesterday’s happenings was result of negligence on the part of Police and administration.
